Stew Leonard's - The World's LARGEST
Dairy Store
(Danbury ,Connecticut)
Excerpts from Beth:
What's
a Roadchick to do on a Sunday or holiday morning?? Typically,
a lot of the museums are closed or operating on a limited
schedule, so the Roadchix have to sharpen their creative pencil
to come up with a plan for these "off" days.
So what was the plan for the morning?? A grocery store, of
course. . . more specifically, Stew Leonard's "World's
LARGEST" Dairy store. Expecting nothing more than a huge
store (which would have been fine for a Roadchix agenda),
we were treated to much, much more.
Was it a huge store? Yes. There was some of the best variety
and miles of produce we've ever seen. Why else would people
battle the crowds and the "deep, deep, roving right field
overflow parking" except for exceptional quality and
selection? But beyond that, there were treats around every
turn--animatronic animals and food that did periodic song
and dance numbers much to the delight of young and old alike,
a petting zoo full of baby barnyard animals and even a walking
tangerine!!
The Roadchix quickly made a lap of the store to scope out
the
scene--and then took a more leisurely stroll waiting for each
mini-performance. We finished off with a stop at the petting
zoo and then made the loooooooooooooooooong trek back to the
car.
Stew Leonard's World's LARGEST Dairy store is a MUST see--especially
for those days when there's nothing else
open or the pocketbook is feeling light and you're in search
of some entertainment.
