Who are the Roadchix?
(Fascinating
Girls That We Are)
The Roadchix are a pair of friends who decided that life
was too short and adventure awaited. Having met at Boston
University, Kristy and Beth became fast friends. But their
friendship was cemented with their first roadtrip after college
graduation - a seven-week journey around the country (see
How We Began for more.)
After that first trip, Roadchix were bitten by the travel
bug, so every year they pick a new state to thoroughly explore.
On the journey, the Roadchix try to find Roadside Attractions,
factory tours, presidents' homes, historic sites, tourist
traps and anything out of the ordinary or off the beaten path.
In addition to cruising the highways and byways, the Roadchix
often take on new adventures such as skydiving, raising money
for charity or sharing the fun with a Scavenger Hunt. You
never know what they'll be into next, but it's always a guarantee
that they'll be seeing a new state each year.
Kristy (Roadchick K)
Kristy
is the web site designer of Roadchix and lives in the Washington,
D.C. area. She does the initial research for each journey by
scouring through the Roadchix Library of travel books. Her
love of Presidents started the 'Chix on their quest to see
at least one home of every president. She hopes to have a
giant Roadside Attraction in her yard one day, so she can
be a stop on Roadside America.
Beth (Roadchick B)
Beth writes many of the stories and snaps many of the pictures on the web site. She lives in the Boulder, Colorado area (relocated from Boston where she lived in her early 'chix-days) with her husband Pete, daughter Gretchen, and dog. As a lover of maps and data, she charts the course for each Roadchix journey with the help of the trusty AAA. Her travel bug is genetic thanks to her parents who have lived from coast-to-coast and everywhere in between. Beth hopes to visit the last few states that she hasn't seen yet as well as explore more of the world. Beth also loves hiking, backpacking, skiing, snowshoeing, rock climbing, and being a Girl Scout Leader.
