 The
Stowe Center has the fortunate and unfortunate circumstance
to stand in the shadow of the Mark Twain House. While not
as whimsical and nearly half of the size, the Harriet Beecher
Stowe home is an interesting peek into the author's
life.
The tour groups are small and intimate and wind their way
through a modest home styled back to the period when Harriet
Beecher Stowe lived in the house. The tour tells the story
of Stowe's life while showing some of her personal effects.
The Center has photos of the Stowe family to fill any gaps
of information and the requisite gift shop with novelty items.
