Barnum Museum

This museum definitely lived up to one of my favorite P.T. Barnum quotes “There's a sucker born every minute.” Being a Roadchick, this museum was awesome. It was filled with kitschy objects and memorabilia, which in some respects has nothing whatsoever to do with each other than that they were in the same museum. If I was a regular tourist, I think I would have felt gypped.

We started at the top and worked our way down. The top is definitely what one expects when you hear of the Barnum Museum. There's a huge miniature display of the circus and what everyone does, along with an exhibit on Tom Thumb and other famous circus performers.

There are other circus exhibits in the museum, but my memory starts to blur when I try to remember what was on the other floors, as many of the objects seemed to have nothing whatsoever to do with P.T. Barnum and were interspersed with details of his life. Somehow, the museum manages to fill this huge building with stuff and most of it seems to relate to Barnum.
